The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has dismissed reports claiming that a travel ban was enforced at Karachiβs Jinnah International Airport.
According to an FIA spokesperson, airport operations are running smoothly, and no restrictions have been placed on passengers traveling abroad. The agency clarified that only individuals officially listed on the Exit Control List (ECL) or wanted in ongoing investigations face travel checks, as per standard procedure.
The spokesperson further urged the public not to believe unverified social media claims that suggested passengers were being stopped from departing. The FIA emphasized that all immigration counters are fully functional and no extraordinary measures have been implemented.
Officials added that coordination with other law enforcement agencies remains active to ensure smooth passenger clearance and national security. The agency reiterated its commitment to transparency and professionalism, assuring travelers that routine processes will continue without disruption.
This clarification comes after rumors circulated online about alleged flight disruptions and passenger detentions at Karachi Airport. The FIA has confirmed that no such incident occurred and that airport operations are proceeding as usual.
