RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its fight against terrorism. He said security operations will continue until all militant groups and their support networks are completely dismantled.
The Field Marshal made these remarks while addressing participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. He attended the event in his capacity as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
During his address, the Field Marshal said Pakistan will continue intelligence-led and precision-based operations across the country. He stressed that there will be no compromise in the campaign against Fitna al Khawarij, Fitna al Hindustan, and all individuals or groups supporting terrorism.
He said the country’s security forces remain determined to eliminate every threat to national security. According to him, operations will continue wherever militant groups attempt to endanger the lives of citizens or challenge the state’s authority.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan’s fight against terrorism is focused on dismantling militant infrastructure and cutting off support systems that allow such groups to operate. He added that these efforts will continue until all terrorist threats are neutralized.
Speaking about the security situation in Balochistan, he accused foreign-backed proxy groups of trying to create instability in the province. He said these elements are attempting to spread fear and disrupt peace through acts of violence.
The army chief stated that such attempts will not succeed because of the determination of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the unity of the nation. He said the country remains committed to protecting its people and maintaining peace.
Field Marshal Asim Munir described Balochistan as a province of great strategic importance for Pakistan. He said its natural resources, geographic location, and resilient people make it a valuable part of the country’s future.
He also highlighted several development initiatives being carried out by the federal and provincial governments. These projects are aimed at improving infrastructure, increasing economic opportunities, attracting investment, and promoting inclusive development across the province.
The Field Marshal said long-term peace and stability in Balochistan are closely linked with economic progress and public welfare. He noted that development projects will help strengthen local communities and improve living standards.
During his speech, Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the role of civil society, educational institutions, the media, and young people in promoting national unity. He said their contributions are essential for strengthening social harmony and supporting peace-building efforts.
He emphasized that national unity remains Pakistan’s greatest strength. He urged all stakeholders to work together in facing security challenges while supporting efforts for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Pakistan.
