Flight Ticket Prices in Pakistan Jump by Up to Rs28,000 After Fuel Price Surge

Flight Ticket Prices in Pakistan Jump by Up to Rs28,000 After Fuel Price Surge

Air travel in Pakistan has become significantly more expensive after a major increase in jet fuel prices. Airlines across the country have raised Ticket prices for both domestic and international flights.

The rise comes after the price of aircraft jet fuel increased sharply. Reports show that jet fuel prices jumped by Rs154 per liter. The new price has reached around Rs342 per liter. This increase has created serious financial pressure for airline operators.

Airlines say fuel is one of the largest operating costs in the aviation industry. When fuel prices rise sharply, airlines often adjust their fares to cover expenses. As a result, passengers are now paying more for every Ticket they purchase.

Domestic travel has already been affected by the change. Airlines have increased Ticket prices for local routes by Rs2,800 to Rs5,000 per passenger. Flights connecting major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad are among the most affected.

Travelers who frequently move between major cities will now face higher travel costs. The increase has already been implemented by several airlines operating domestic routes.

The situation is even more challenging for passengers traveling abroad. International airfares have increased more sharply compared to domestic routes. Airlines have raised international Ticket prices by Rs10,000 to Rs28,000 depending on the destination.

Flights from Pakistan to Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries have also become more expensive. Some routes in these regions have recorded fare increases of around Rs15,000 per Ticket.

Long-distance routes have experienced the biggest impact. Flights from Pakistan to cities such as Toronto and Manchester have seen the highest increases. For these routes, the price of a single Ticket has gone up by as much as Rs28,000.

Following the latest changes, the one-way economy class Ticket on some international routes now exceeds Rs250,000. This sharp rise is expected to affect many travelers planning trips abroad.

Airline officials say the sudden rise in jet fuel costs left them with little choice. They explained that maintaining previous fare levels would not be financially sustainable.

The increase in Ticket prices reflects the growing impact of rising fuel costs on Pakistan’s aviation sector. Travelers may continue to face higher airfares if fuel prices remain elevated in the coming months.
