The deadlock between the Flour Mills Association and the government has been resolved, and the flour mills have announced the suspension of their three-day strike following successful negotiations.
A meeting was held between the Flour Mills Association, government ministers, and FBR officials, leading to significant progress in the negotiations.

The prime minister assigned Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal to negotiate with the flour mills, with Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik also attending. After the successful talks, the Flour Mills Association ended their strike. The federal government partially accepted the association’s stance, postponing the nationwide strike until July 22. A committee of federal ministers and FBR officials will meet on Monday and Thursday, with the association presenting a financial estimate. The withholding tax on flour mills under Section 153A will remain at 0.25% until a final decision is reached.
Flour mills will begin wheat washing today, start grinding tomorrow, and resume normal flour supply nationwide on Monday.
