Foreign Airlines Take Detour Over Pakistan As Regional Skies Shut Down

Pakistan

As the Iran-Israel war cripples air traffic in the Middle East, multiple international airlines have begun rerouting their flights through Pakistan to bypass closed airspaces in Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Israel.

Sources confirm that major carriers, including Emirates, are now flying over western Pakistan and into Afghanistan and Central Asia, continuing onward to Europe and other destinations. This shift has made Pakistan a critical transit corridor during the ongoing crisis.

Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv remains shut for a third straight day, stranding thousands, while Iran has extended its airspace closure until further notice. Jordan has reopened limited airspace access, but full resumption depends on the security outlook.

With no clear end to the conflict, rerouted paths through Pakistan could become the new normal for global air travel in the region.
