The federal government has appointed Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Aamer as Pakistan’s new ambassador to the UAE.
Aamer, who retired from the army nearly 11 months ago, will take over from Syed Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, who is now the ambassador to Belgium and the EU.

The UAE government’s approval for Aamer’s appointment is pending.
Aamer, with extensive public service experience, previously served as Military Secretary to President Asif Ali Zardari and held various key positions.
Additionally, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Murad Ashraf Janjua, has been named the new ambassador to Brazil.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Aamer Shaukat, is set to become the envoy to Egypt, succeeding Sajid Iqbal.
