A joint operation by police and security forces in Rawalakot’s Hussain Kot area resulted in the elimination of four terrorists. However, the encounter also claimed the lives of two police officers and left eight others injured.
SSP Poonch, Riaz Mughal, stated that the operation was initiated following credible intelligence about terrorists hiding in the forested region. The suspects had reportedly taken refuge in a cave and were allegedly plotting attacks in Azad Kashmir.

During a late-night press briefing, SSP Mughal shared that he personally led the team to apprehend the suspects. “One of the terrorists hurled a grenade during the operation, injuring an accomplice and one of our officers,” he said. A heavy exchange of gunfire followed, killing all four militants, who were already wanted for several murders.
“Unfortunately, we lost two courageous officers in this mission, and twenty others sustained injuries during the clash,” he added.
