The federal government has proposed an increase of up to 25 percent in the salaries of its employees as part of the approved Budget 2024-25 by the federal cabinet.
Under the budget plan, a 25% raise in salaries has been announced for employees in Grade 1 to 16, while a 20% increase has been proposed for officers in Grade 17 to 22.

The budget for the upcoming fiscal year has a total outlay of Rs18 trillion, with a primary focus on revenue mobilization, economic stabilization, growth, reduction of non-development expenditures, job creation, and the implementation of people-friendly policies for socioeconomic prosperity.
To achieve revenue growth, the government has set the revenue collection target at over Rs12 trillion for the fiscal year 2024-25. All relevant departments and ministries have been actively involved in budget-related activities, including the presentation of the budget in Parliament and the launch of the Economic Survey.
