Govt allocates Rs4.8bn for science and technology

The government has earmarked Rs4.8 billion for 31 projects aimed at promoting science and technology, as revealed in the latest budget.

In addition, Rs9.8 billion has been allocated for the construction of Daanish schools, reflecting a focus on both education and innovation.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, in his budget speech, said, “We will change the economic DNA by bringing the basic changes.”

Meanwhile, individuals using e-commerce platforms for business will now face taxation. The budget also proposes increasing the income tax on interest income from 15% to 20%.
