Government Employees Could Receive Up to Rs52,000 Under New Allowance Plan

Government Employees Could Receive Up to Rs52,000 Under New Allowance Plan

Thousands of government employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are set to receive higher monthly payments after the provincial government approved revised House Allowance rates. The updated package applies to eligible employees serving in the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister Secretariat, and Governor Secretariat.

The revised House Allowance will take effect from July 1, 2026, following approval by the provincial cabinet. After the cabinet’s decision, the KP Finance Department issued an official notification directing all concerned departments to implement the new rates without delay.

Under the revised structure, employees from BPS-03 to BPS-22 will receive increased monthly allowances based on their pay scale. The government said the move is intended to provide greater financial support to employees and help address rising living costs.

According to the notification, employees in BPS-03 to BPS-06 will now receive Rs6,000 per month. Those serving in BPS-07 to BPS-10 will receive Rs9,000 every month.

Employees in BPS-11 to BPS-13 have been allocated a monthly allowance of Rs13,000. Meanwhile, officials in BPS-14 and BPS-15 will receive Rs16,000 under the revised package.

The updated House Allowance also increases benefits for senior government officers. Employees in BPS-16 will receive Rs18,000 per month. Officers in BPS-17 and BPS-18 will receive Rs21,000 each month.

Higher-grade officers will receive even larger amounts. Officials in BPS-19 will get Rs28,000, while those in BPS-20 will receive Rs35,000. Employees in BPS-21 will be paid Rs42,000, and officers in BPS-22 will receive the highest monthly allowance of Rs52,000.

The revised allowance applies to all eligible employees working in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister Secretariat, and Governor Secretariat. Departments have been instructed to ensure the revised payments are implemented according to the government’s notification.

The announcement comes as several public institutions are reviewing employee benefits. Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan approved a 100 percent increase in the utility allowance for its employees. That decision was endorsed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and also became effective from July 1, 2026.

Following the revision, Supreme Court employees in Grades 1 to 6 will receive Rs12,000 per month instead of Rs6,000. Employees in Grades 7 to 10 will now receive Rs16,000, while those in Grades 11 to 15 will receive Rs20,000 after the allowance was doubled.
