Govt Targets 60% Renewable Energy in Power Mix By 2030

The government has announced an ambitious plan to increase renewable energy in the country’s power mix. The goal is to achieve 60% renewable energy by 2030. This move is part of broader efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy sources.

Officials said that the plan includes expanding solar, wind, and hydroelectric power generation. The government aims to attract both local and foreign investment in renewable energy projects. This strategy is expected to create jobs and strengthen the energy sector.

β€œGovt Targets 60% Renewable Energy in Power Mix By 2030 to ensure a cleaner, greener, and more reliable energy supply,” said an energy ministry spokesperson. The plan also includes upgrading existing power infrastructure to accommodate renewable energy efficiently.

Experts have welcomed the initiative, noting that Pakistan has significant potential for solar and wind energy. Transitioning to renewables can help reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower energy costs in the long term.

The government is introducing incentives such as tax breaks, subsidies, and low-interest loans for renewable energy developers. It is also promoting energy conservation and efficiency measures across industries and households.

β€œGovt Targets 60% Renewable Energy in Power Mix By 2030, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development and climate goals,” the spokesperson added. The government plans regular monitoring to track progress and ensure targets are met on schedule.

This initiative aligns with global trends where countries are shifting to renewable energy to fight climate change. By setting a clear target, Pakistan aims to boost clean energy production while ensuring energy security for future generations.

With the new policy, officials believe that the energy sector can transition smoothly toward renewables while supporting economic growth and environmental sustainability.
