CCTV footage captured the suspects—three women and two men—fleeing the scene in a rickshaw. Initial investigations revealed the gang, led by the housemaids, quickly escaped after committing the crime.
Safe City’s virtual patrolling officer collected the footage and shared it with local police for further action. Within hours, the police tracked and arrested the suspects, and legal proceedings are now in progress.
Authorities have advised residents to carefully vet domestic workers, including checking their police records, to avoid such incidents in the future.
Earlier, in Karachi’s DHA area, a housemaid drugged her employer and stole valuables worth millions, including Rs2 million, $10,000, and 32 tola of gold. CCTV footage showed the masked maid fleeing with the stolen goods in a rickshaw, and the police are continuing their search.
