Punjab Launches IT Internship Program Offering Rs50,000 Stipend For Fresh Graduates

LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched a major youth initiative under the direction of CM Maryam Nawaz. The program is designed to support unemployed IT graduates across the province.

The new IT Internship Program aims to strengthen Punjabโ€™s position in the global technology sector. Officials say it will help bridge the gap between education and industry.

Under this scheme, 2,400 candidates will be selected. They will be placed in leading IT companies and top software houses in Punjab.

Each selected intern under the IT Internship Program will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000. Authorities say this is one of the largest paid internship opportunities for fresh graduates.

The program is open to applicants holding Punjab domicile. Candidates must have a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Officials added that applicants must have completed their degree within the last four years. This condition ensures the focus remains on recent graduates seeking employment.

The internship will continue for five months. During this period, participants will gain hands-on professional experience.

Selected interns will not only observe work but also actively contribute. They will be trained in real industry environments.

The IT Internship Program includes training in high-demand fields. These include web development, artificial intelligence, graphic designing, and SEO.

Government representatives said the program is aimed at improving technical skills. It also focuses on preparing youth for the digital economy.

Officials added that the initiative is part of a broader plan. The goal is to reduce unemployment through technology-based opportunities.

The application process has been made fully online. Candidates can apply through the official portal: http://cmitintern.punjab.gov.pk

However, users have reported technical issues with the website. Many applicants are facing delays in accessing the system.

Authorities are expected to issue updates soon. They will also clarify the application timeline for the IT Internship Program.

The Punjab government believes the program will help young professionals. It will connect education with practical industry experience.
