Unknown Gunmen opened fire at the residence of Bilal Sher Khosa, son of former Punjab governor Sardar Latif Khosa, in Lahore’s Defence Phase 6 area.
According to reports, two armed men riding a motorcycle allegedly attempted to enter the house before opening fire outside the property late at night.
Bilal Sher Khosa informed police that the incident took place shortly after he returned home. He claimed the attackers arrived moments later and launched the assault.
The incident created panic in the area, while police teams were called to the scene soon after the firing was reported.
In an application submitted to Defence-C Police Station, Bilal Sher Khosa requested authorities to register a formal case against the unidentified Gunmen and provide security for him and his family.
Officials said investigators have started collecting evidence and examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects involved in the attack.
Police have not yet confirmed the motive behind the firing. However, authorities said further investigation is currently under way.
Bilal Sher Khosa is a lawyer who practices before the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He also mentioned in his complaint that he had previously faced a similar attack.
According to the application, Bilal Sher Khosa was allegedly injured during another firing incident in Lahore’s Muslim Town area in 2023.
The latest attack has raised concerns regarding the security of political and legal figures in the city.
Police officials said forensic teams are also examining the crime scene to gather additional evidence linked to the incident.
Authorities added that efforts are being made to trace the movement of the Gunmen through surveillance cameras and witness statements.
No casualties were reported in the latest firing incident, but the attack sparked fear among residents of the area.
Security experts say attacks involving unidentified Gunmen on motorcycles have become a growing concern in major urban centers due to the speed and ease of escape.
The incident has also drawn political attention because of the Khosa family’s connection with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and national politics.
Law enforcement agencies have assured that all angles will be investigated before any conclusions are reached.
Officials stated that security arrangements in the area may also be reviewed following the incident.
Meanwhile, residents of Defence Phase 6 expressed concern over rising security incidents and called for stronger policing measures in the neighborhood.
