HEC has invited universities across Pakistan to submit nominations for the Best University Teacher Award 2026.
The award aims to recognize outstanding faculty members working in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
Selected teachers will be recognized for their achievements in teaching, innovation, student learning and academic development.
Both public and private universities recognized by the Higher Education Commission can participate in the nomination process.
However, each eligible university can nominate only one faculty member for the award.
HEC Teacher Award 2026 Deadline
Universities must submit their nominations by October 7, 2026. The complete nomination documents must reach the office of the Director General Academics at HEC in Islamabad.
Universities should complete the selection and documentation process before the deadline. Incomplete or delayed submissions could create issues during the nomination process.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Faculty members working at HEC-recognized public and private higher education institutions can be considered for the award.
Universities should identify teachers with strong performance in teaching and student learning. Nominees should also have made meaningful contributions to academic development and innovation.
A university-level committee will evaluate eligible faculty members before selecting the institution’s final nominee. The selection must follow the approved criteria and framework established for the award.
Documents Required for Nomination
Universities must prepare a complete nomination dossier for their selected faculty member. The dossier should follow the approved award framework.
Institutions must also submit the minutes of the university-level committee meeting that approved the nomination. A soft copy of the complete nomination dossier must also be included.
Universities may need to provide other supporting documents required under the official award framework. Institutions should carefully review their documents before making the final submission.
How the Nomination Process Works
Each eligible institution can submit only one nomination for the Best University Teacher Award 2026. The university-level committee will first assess eligible teachers according to the approved criteria.
After completing the assessment, the committee will select one faculty member as the university’s nominee. The institution must then prepare the required nomination dossier and supporting documents.
The completed nomination must be submitted to the Director General Academics in Islamabad. The HEC Best University Teacher Award is designed to highlight excellence in higher education teaching.
It also recognizes teachers who contribute to stronger academic standards and improved student learning. Universities interested in participating should complete their internal selection process as early as possible.
