Authorities in Punjab have issued a high-level security alert for colleges and educational institutions across the province following reports of potential threats.
According to official sources, the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has directed all public and private colleges to tighten security arrangements and ensure strict monitoring of entry and exit points. Institutions have also been advised to coordinate closely with local police and district administrations to maintain vigilance.
The alert urges college administrations to install CCTV cameras, check visitor identification, and restrict unauthorized access to campus premises. Security personnel have been told to remain on high alert, particularly during peak hours and large gatherings.
Officials emphasized that these measures are preventive and part of the provinceโs broader efforts to ensure student safety amid rising security concerns nationwide. The government has reassured parents and students that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain peace and normal academic activities.
The alert remains in place until further notice, with continuous monitoring by provincial and district-level security agencies.
