SLAMABAD – A court has sent two suspects in the murder case of digital designer Hina Javed to Adiala Jail.
The suspects are identified as Hina Javed’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and his employee, Zeeshan. The court granted their 14-day judicial remand during a hearing in Islamabad.
The suspects were presented before Duty Civil Judge Adil Sarwar Sial. The investigating officer informed the court that the police investigation was still in progress.
However, police said the suspects were no longer needed for physical remand. The court subsequently ordered that both suspects be sent to jail on judicial remand.
The court directed authorities to present the suspects again on September 16. Police were also instructed to complete the investigation before the next hearing.
The investigating team was directed to submit the charge sheet at the upcoming hearing. Further proceedings will depend on the findings presented by the police.
According to police, several items were recovered during the investigation. These reportedly include an alleged murder weapon, identified as a screwdriver.
Police also recovered a piece of cloth and an iron wire from the suspects. The recovered items have been included as part of the investigation into the case.
Authorities also took several marriage-related documents into custody. These included marriage certificates linked to Faisal Asghar’s first and second marriages.
Police further recovered the divorce certificate of his first wife, Iram Zaib. Officials said the documents were verified by the relevant union council.
The verification was carried out to establish the authenticity of the documents. Police are continuing to examine the evidence collected during the investigation.
The two suspects had previously remained in police custody under a 10-day physical remand. They were produced before the court after the completion of that remand period.
Following the latest court order, police transferred both suspects to Adiala Jail. They will remain there until their next court appearance.
The investigation into the Hina Javed murder case remains underway. Police are expected to present further findings before the court during the next hearing.
The court will review the investigation and charge sheet when the suspects are produced on September 16. Further legal proceedings will then follow according to the evidence and applicable law.
