Citizens living in rented homes can also update their CNIC address. To do this, they must provide a copy of their rent agreement along with a recent electricity bill for the property where they currently live. These documents help verify the applicant’s place of residence.
If a tenant wants to register the rented house as a permanent address, one additional document is required. The property owner must provide a written affidavit confirming that the house has been rented to the applicant. The affidavit should also clearly state that the owner has no objection to the tenant registering the property as their permanent address.
For homeowners, the process is even simpler. They only need to visit a NADRA registration center with the original ownership documents of their house. Officials will verify and scan the original documents during the visit.
NADRA clarified that applicants do not need to submit photocopies of their ownership papers. After scanning the documents, officials will immediately return the originals to the applicant. This helps reduce paperwork and makes the process faster.
