Meeting Between PTI Founder And Mahmood Achakzai Expected Soon, Claims Ikhtiar Wali

A high-level discussion between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) chief Mahmood Achakzai meeting expected soon, according to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan. He indicated that the meeting could take place within one to two weeks.

Speaking on ARY News’ program Aiteraz Hai, Ikhtiar Wali Khan said the meeting expected soon might occur before Achakzai’s planned engagement with the Prime Minister. He noted that political developments had been moving toward resolution before recent events altered the situation.

Commenting on the nationwide strike call, Khan said the shutdown saw minimal response in Sindh and Punjab. Islamabad and Rawalpindi remained unaffected, with no major wheel-jam or shutter-down activity reported. Business activity continued in several divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He alleged that in parts of the province, some PTI processions attempted to forcibly close shops. Confrontations occurred in Malakand when local residents resisted the shutdown orders. Video evidence reportedly exists showing attacks on open businesses.

Ikhtiar Wali Khan described the strike call as driven by PTI’s second-tier leadership. He added that many citizens ignored the call, and expectations of a nationwide shutdown did not materialize.

Regarding future dialogue, he said any negotiations would stay within constitutional limits. He emphasized that demands for fresh elections would not be entertained. The meeting expected soon would proceed under the framework of law, leaving the decision to negotiate to PTI leadership.

The PMLN leader also commented on political developments in Balochistan, linking them to the actions of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mahmood Achakzai. He suggested that these developments contributed to the current situation in the province.

The anticipated meeting is being closely watched by political analysts, as it may influence dialogue efforts and ongoing political dynamics in Pakistan.
