In meeting with COAS, Egyptian president lauds Pakistan's 'contributions' towards Muslim world

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has praised Pakistan’s strong role in supporting the Muslim Ummah. His remarks came during a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo.

During the session, in meeting with COAS, Egyptian president lauds Pakistan’s ‘contributions’ towards Muslim world as he acknowledged Islamabad’s proactive stance on key issues impacting Muslim-majority nations. He commended Pakistan’s continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Both sides discussed security cooperation, defence production, maritime collaboration, and technology partnerships. They also agreed to strengthen coordination on matters of mutual strategic interest, including counterterrorism and regional stability.

The Army Chief highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with Egypt. He said Pakistan values its historical bond with Cairo and is determined to boost defence and economic cooperation. The Egyptian leadership supported this vision and expressed readiness to work closely in multiple sectors.

As part of his official visit, the COAS also held meetings with senior religious leaders, including the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. The discussions focused on combating extremism and promoting harmony within the Muslim world. These engagements further reinforced Pakistan’s efforts to counter radical narratives and encourage unity among Muslim nations.
