Indian Diplomats And Staff Exit Pakistan Amid Rising Cross-Border Tensions

In the midst of mounting diplomatic strain between Pakistan and India, 22 officials from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad including three diplomats have returned to India through the Wagah border, sources confirmed on Wednesday.

The departure, overseen by Indian diplomat Rahul Kumar Rakesh, was conducted in two phases. On Tuesday, one diplomat, eight staff members, and two family members crossed over, while the second batch of two diplomats, 11 staffers, and two more family members left earlier today.

This significant drawdown follows intensifying military rhetoric between the two countries, with both sides trading stern warnings of potential action in the near future.

Sources added that operations at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad have been scaled back as part of precautionary measures, amid growing fears of further escalation.
