The complex, managed by the Punjab government since 2019, houses numerous residential units, schools, madrasas, and hospitals. Officials described the attack as a targeted strike on vital civilian infrastructure, including religious and welfare institutions, calling it a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

The Pakistan Army has pledged a strong response to these ongoing Indian attacks, particularly those targeting civilian areas and religious sites.
