The whereabouts of television host-turned-politician Iqrar-ul-Hassan remain unclear following a reported late-night incident at his Lahore residence. His family alleged that unidentified individuals took him away, seized electronic devices and removed CCTV recordings. However, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has denied arresting him.

According to his wife, Farah Iqrar, the incident occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning, October 11 and 12. She placed the time between approximately 2:40am and 3am at their home in DHA Phase 8, Lahore.

Farah alleged that a group of unidentified individuals entered the house, with some wearing masks and plain clothes. She claimed that women were also among the group. According to her account, she noticed the letters “NCCIA” on their armbands or badges.

The family alleged that the individuals forced their way into the house by breaking a door or climbing over a wall. Farah also claimed that she was pushed during the incident. The individuals allegedly took mobile phones, laptops, a digital video recorder (DVR) and CCTV footage before leaving with Iqrar-ul-Hassan in two vehicles.

Farah further alleged that the individuals did not present arrest warrants or clearly identify themselves. These claims have not been independently verified. The NCCIA has denied having Iqrar-ul-Hassan in its custody.

Family Seeks Information About His Whereabouts

Farah reportedly visited the NCCIA office to inquire about her husband’s whereabouts. She alleged that staff were unavailable and asked her to return at 10am. Her attempt to register a First Information Report (FIR) at Defence Police Station also reportedly faced difficulties.

Some media reports cited claims that officials gave reasons for not registering the complaint, including problems with the Wi-Fi connection. These details remain allegations and have not been independently confirmed.

Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s first wife, Qurat-ul-Ain Iqrar, also reportedly described similar circumstances. She appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for assistance in securing his recovery.

The conflicting accounts have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. While the family maintains that unidentified individuals took him away, the NCCIA has denied arresting him.

Some reports have mentioned between 10 and 12 individuals at the residence. Meanwhile, social media users have speculated about possible links to political activities and online posts. However, no verified evidence has established such a connection.

Lawyer Plans Habeas Corpus Petition

Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, has decided to approach the Lahore High Court through a habeas corpus petition. The petition seeks his recovery and production before the court.

Such legal proceedings can help establish a person’s whereabouts and allow judicial review if unlawful detention is alleged. The lawyer has reportedly said that it remains unclear whether a criminal case or specific allegation relates to the incident.

The information available at the time of reporting did not identify any confirmed charge sheet or criminal case connected to the reported incident. Further clarification from the relevant authorities remains important in establishing the facts.
