Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held key talks with Pakistan’s top leadership during his latest visit to Islamabad. The discussions come at a sensitive time for regional diplomacy.
Araghchi met Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. The meeting focused on security issues and ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region.
These key talks took place shortly after Araghchi returned from Oman. There, he held high-level discussions with Haitham bin Tariq. The talks in Oman focused on the Strait of Hormuz and regional stability.
Pakistan is currently playing a role in supporting dialogue between Iran and the United States. However, recent developments have added uncertainty. Donald Trump cancelled a planned visit by US envoys to Pakistan.

Earlier, Araghchi had also met Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar. These discussions were described as productive by Iranian officials.

Following his meetings in Pakistan, Araghchi is expected to travel to Russia. There, he will continue consultations with international partners.
