Ireland is offering Jobs to qualified Pakistani chartered accountants, providing a possible career opportunity for experienced professionals seeking employment abroad.
According to Pakistan’s Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, the opportunities are aimed at professionals with relevant accounting and auditing experience. Candidates with knowledge of international reporting and auditing practices may have an advantage when applying.
To qualify, applicants should be members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). They should also have at least three years of relevant audit experience. Experience with international auditing standards, US GAAP, and global audit practices is also considered important.
Meanwhile, applicants must secure an employment offer from an Ireland-registered company. The job offer should cover a period of at least two years. For eligible Critical Skills occupations, the minimum annual salary requirement is €40,904.
However, some recent graduates may qualify under a lower annual salary threshold of €36,848. This applies to eligible applicants who obtained the relevant qualification within the previous 12 months.
Another requirement concerns the workforce of the employer offering the Jobs. At least 50 percent of its employees must normally be citizens of the European Economic Area. However, certain eligible start-ups may receive an exemption from this condition.
The exemption may apply to qualifying companies supported by Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland.
Applicants are also not required to complete a Labor Market Needs Test for the employment permit. Applications must be submitted online at least 12 weeks before the proposed employment starting date. The permit application carries a processing fee of €1,000.
In addition, the opportunity may provide benefits for eligible workers planning to move with their families. Qualified employees may be allowed to bring family members to Ireland. Their family members may also receive permission to live and work there, subject to applicable rules.
Moreover, eligible workers may be able to change employers after completing nine months of employment. This can provide greater flexibility for professionals building their careers in Ireland.
Qualified workers may later become eligible for Stamp 4 status after meeting the required conditions. This status can offer greater flexibility to live and work in Ireland.
It may also provide a possible route towards longer-term residence and eventual citizenship. However, applicants must meet all relevant legal and immigration requirements.
