Dar Calls for In-Camera Briefing on Soaring Terror Incidents

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for an in-camera briefing in parliament to address the recent surge in terrorist incidents across the country.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Dar said that the rise in militant attacks requires serious national attention and coordinated action. He stressed that lawmakers must be fully briefed on the security situation, including measures taken by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

โ€œThe issue of terrorism directly concerns national security and public safety. It is important that parliament is taken into confidence through an in-camera session,โ€ Dar said.

The deputy prime minister also emphasized the need for stronger border management, particularly along the Afghanistan-Pakistan frontier, where several recent attacks have been linked to cross-border infiltration.

Darโ€™s statement follows growing concerns among lawmakers and the public over the resurgence of militant activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Security experts have urged closer cooperation between civil and military institutions to effectively counter the threat.

The proposed briefing aims to provide a comprehensive overview of counter-terror operations, intelligence assessments, and future security strategies.
