Islamabad โ Investigators have confirmed that the suicide bomber who targeted the Islamabad court had links to Afghanistan, authorities said.
Security sources revealed that the attackerโs facilitator was also arrested during a search operation. The facilitator, traced to Bajaur, helped the bomber reach the vicinity of the Islamabad court. Officials called this a key breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities added that the facilitatorโs arrest was based on information provided by suspects detained earlier. Security teams continue search operations to uncover additional links and networks that enabled the attack.
The development comes amid broader concerns over cross-border terrorism, with security sources highlighting Afghan connections in recent attacks.
In a related incident, officials disclosed that all terrorists involved in the Cadet College Wana attack were Afghan nationals. The operation was reportedly planned inside Afghanistan, with the final order issued by TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud.
Sources said that the militants followed instructions relayed remotely from Afghanistan. The operation was initially planned by a terrorist named Zahid, and the responsibility was later claimed by Jaish-ul-Hind under Mehsudโs directives.
These findings indicate a coordinated pattern of cross-border planning, remote guidance, and execution of attacks, authorities said. Security experts warn that such networks continue to pose serious threats to Pakistanโs judicial and educational institutions.
Officials assured that additional preventive measures have been put in place around the Islamabad court and other sensitive locations. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately.
