Police Officers Accused of Using Honey Traps to Kidnap Citizens for Ransom

Just before Eid, a disturbing case of abduction came to light in Islamabad, where a group of Rawalpindi police officers were allegedly involved in using a woman to lure and kidnap citizens for ransom.

According to a local TV report, the scheme was orchestrated by police officers Zahid Usman and Afaq, who, with the help of a woman, targeted individuals through a deceptive honey trap. The victims were then held, and significant ransom amounts were demanded from their families.

The case was reported to the Sangjani police station, prompting a swift investigation that led to the arrest of Shahid Iqbal, one of the group’s accomplices. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects, including the two implicated officers and their collaborators.

The revelation of law enforcement officers’ involvement in such a serious crime has intensified public concerns about corruption and misconduct within the police force. Authorities are now facing mounting pressure to restore trust in law enforcement and ensure accountability.
