ISPR Chief Responds to Claims Linking UAE to Terrorism in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: The ISPR chief has rejected allegations linking the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to terrorism in Balochistan. He described the claims as baseless and said they were aimed at damaging relations between the two countries.

During a press conference on Friday, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, responded to a question about Pakistan-UAE relations and claims circulating on social media.

The ISPR chief said Pakistan and the UAE share a long-standing relationship based on mutual trust, cooperation, and friendship. He stressed that the partnership has developed over decades and remains strong.

Addressing the allegations, he said the claims were “baseless and illogical.” According to him, the propaganda was mainly being spread through social media accounts operating from outside Pakistan.

The military spokesperson said those promoting such narratives were unhappy with Pakistan’s close relations with the UAE and other Gulf countries. He added that these attempts were intended to create misunderstanding between the friendly nations.

The ISPR chief stated that such efforts would not succeed. He said the relationship between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi is built on shared interests and mutual respect.

He emphasized that both countries value each other’s peace, security, and stability. According to him, these common interests have strengthened bilateral ties over many years.

Speaking about the regional security situation, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry noted that the UAE is located in a region facing security challenges and military conflicts.

He said every sovereign country has the right to make decisions necessary for its national security. He added that there is nothing unusual about a state taking measures to protect its interests.

The military spokesperson also said it is unrealistic to expect every country to hold identical positions on every international issue. He explained that differences in policy can exist between friendly nations without affecting their overall relationship.

Despite such differences, he said Pakistan and the UAE continue to maintain close cooperation and mutual understanding. He added that both countries remain committed to supporting regional peace and stability.

The ISPR chief reiterated that Pakistan and the UAE enjoy deep historical ties. He said both nations consider each other’s security and prosperity to be in their shared interest.

He further stated that attempts to spread misinformation would not weaken the relationship between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi. According to him, the partnership has remained strong despite repeated propaganda campaigns.

The press conference also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic and strategic ties with friendly countries. Officials said Pakistan continues to value its relationship with the UAE across multiple sectors.
