“It will cost Rs. 2 Million at Public Expense”, CJP Faez Isa Refuses Farewell Dinner

Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has declined an official retirement dinner scheduled for October 25, which was to be funded by the government.

In a letter to the Registrar’s Office regarding the dinner, intended for judges, their families, and legal representatives, he emphasized that no event should be held in his honor, citing the expense of Rs2 million in public funds.

The Registrar’s Office had previously announced a full court reference for October 25, with a farewell dinner organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association, which Chief Justice Isa has agreed to attend.

While it is customary to hold a dinner for retiring Supreme Court judges or Chief Justices, Qazi Faez Isa has opted to forgo this tradition.
