Italy Announces 10,500 Jobs for Pakistani Workers - Check Details

ISLAMABAD: Italy has announced major employment and education opportunities for Pakistani citizens under a new cooperation framework. The development highlights growing ties between the two countries.

Italy will provide employment opportunities to 10,500 Pakistani workers over the next three years. The announcement was made by Italyโ€™s Ambassador to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, during Italy Day celebrations in Islamabad.

She said the initiative reflects stronger cooperation between Pakistan and Italy in labor mobility. The program aims to support legal migration and skill-based employment opportunities.

Under the agreement, Italy will allow thousands of Pakistani workers to access formal jobs in different sectors. Officials said this step will strengthen people-to-people connections and promote safe migration pathways.

The ambassador also announced 3,200 scholarships for Pakistani students. These scholarships will be available for the 2025โ€“26 academic year. Students will be able to study at universities across Italy.

She said educational cooperation between Italy and Pakistan is expanding. The scholarships aim to help students gain international exposure and improve professional skills.

During her speech, the ambassador also discussed regional issues. She expressed support for Pakistanโ€™s efforts in promoting dialogue and diplomacy. She appreciated Pakistanโ€™s role in encouraging mediation in regional tensions.

The event was hosted by the Italian Embassy in Islamabad. It marked the 80th Italy Day and was attended by diplomats, government officials, and members of civil society.

The ceremony began with the national anthems of Pakistan and Italy. Officials highlighted the importance of continued collaboration in education, diplomacy, and economic development.

Speaking at the event, Pakistani officials also welcomed the growing partnership. They said relations between Pakistan and Italy have remained stable and constructive for decades.

Italy hosts one of the largest Pakistani communities in Europe. The ambassador said improving consular services and support for overseas Pakistanis remains a key priority.

Experts believe the new opportunities in Italy will help reduce unemployment pressure in Pakistan. They also expect increased academic exchange between the two countries.

The event concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony. It represented the strengthening friendship and long-term partnership between Pakistan and Italy.
