Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a sit-in at D-Chowk on July 26 to protest against rising inflation. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the party’s Amir, addressed the Islamabad Bar Association, explaining that the protest is aimed at opposing the excessive taxes imposed on the public.
He criticized the current government, suggesting it should be formed under a “Form 45” rather than “Form 47,” emphasizing that citizens should have the freedom to vote according to their preferences. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed frustration over the country’s regression since its independence 70 years ago.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader also condemned the recent Bannu firing incident and called for an independent investigation into the event. He stressed that the protest is not for personal gain but to address issues such as inflated electricity bills, and taxes on essential items like flour, lentils, and sugar.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman accused Independent Power Producers (IPPs) of exploiting the Pakistani people, and the sit-in aims to advocate for the rights of the nation and challenge the government’s handling of these financial burdens.
