Police in Jhelum successfully recovered and returned a pair of stolen AirPods to British travel vlogger Lord Miles, several months after the device was reported missing in Dubai.
The AirPods were allegedly stolen during Lord Miles’ trip to the United Arab Emirates earlier this year. Investigations later revealed that the item had been taken by an Indian citizen, who then sold it to a Pakistani living abroad. Unaware of their stolen status, the buyer brought the AirPods back with him to Pakistan.

Lord Miles, known for documenting his adventurous travels online, used Apple’s tracking feature to trace the AirPods to a neighborhood in Jhelum. However, he couldn’t identify the person using them, so he turned to social media—posting on X (formerly Twitter)—to seek help from local authorities.
His post caught the attention of Jhelum’s District Police Officer (DPO), Tariq Aziz Sindhu, who ordered a focused investigation. A door-to-door search was carried out in the area identified through the tracking system, and officers successfully located the individual in possession of the AirPods.
Police sources said the person cooperated fully once informed of the situation and agreed to return the device.
Lord Miles later traveled from the UK to Pakistan to personally collect the AirPods, which were formally returned to him at the DPO’s office in Jhelum on Friday.
The case has sparked online conversation about cross-border cooperation in digital theft recovery and highlighted the importance of being cautious when purchasing secondhand electronic items that can be digitally traced.
Speaking to the media, DPO Sindhu praised the swift work of his team and emphasized the growing need to tackle digital crimes effectively in today’s interconnected world.
