Karachi and Balochistan Brace for Stormy Weather

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory warning of windstorms and thunderstorms in the outskirts of Karachi, while several districts of Balochistan are expected to experience rain, hail, and gusty winds. The weather conditions are anticipated to intensify over the coming days.

In Karachi, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid for the next 24 hours, with temperatures ranging between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded on Thursday was 28°C, and the relative humidity in the air reached 72 percent. Dry winds are currently blowing from the east at 6 km/h, but the PMD has cautioned that wind and thunderstorms could affect Karachi’s peripheral areas later in the day.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan, weather conditions are set to worsen, with the Met Office forecasting rain, hailstorms, and strong winds across several districts, including Kalat, Sibi, Barkhan, and Quetta. Some areas are likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by hail and powerful winds. The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with sudden changes in conditions in regions such as Quetta, Chaman, Zhob, and Khuzdar.

The maximum temperatures recorded in Balochistan on Thursday were high, with Sibi and Nokundi reaching 43°C. Authorities have urged residents, especially in vulnerable areas, to stay alert and monitor weather updates to prepare for potential windstorms and flash flooding.
