How the Fake Job Offer Allegedly Worked
The incident took place on September 30 in Gadap City, Karachi. According to police, 59 girls were invited to a private farmhouse after seeing a job advertisement on social media.
The applicants were reportedly told they would attend interviews for an event-related opportunity. They were transported to the farmhouse in two buses for what was described as training.
Once the girls arrived, they were informed that recording was prohibited. They were also instructed to hand over their mobile phones.
Police said Salman collected the devices in a bag. He then allegedly fled from the farmhouse with an accomplice, taking the phones with him.
The girls later went to Gadap Town police station to report the incident. Their complaints prompted police to visit the farmhouse and begin investigating the matter.
Police Investigate the Farmhouse Incident
Following the reports, police detained farmhouse manager Waqas and coordinator Nargis. Investigators subsequently pursued Salman, who was identified as another key suspect.
Police said the investigation revealed the alleged use of a SIM registered under someone else’s name. Officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the roles of those involved.
The arrest marks a development in the case involving the alleged theft of the girls’ mobile phones. The recovery of 40 devices may help investigators determine how the stolen property was handled.
Authorities are continuing legal proceedings against the suspects. The allegations will be examined through the investigation and court process.
Warning About Fake Job Advertisements
The incident highlights the risks associated with unverified job advertisements posted on social media. Applicants should check the identity of recruiters and confirm the legitimacy of interview locations before attending.
People should also be cautious when asked to surrender personal belongings during recruitment activities. Any suspicious demand or situation should be reported to the relevant authorities.
Police have not provided further details about the status of every missing device. The investigation remains focused on establishing the facts and holding those responsible accountable.
