Karachi police in the Gulbahar area stopped a suspect during an unusual breaking ATM attempt. The suspect had entered a private bank branch with a stone.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central, Dr Imran, the man tried to damage the ATM machine. He smashed the screen, cash drawers, and other sensitive components. However, police acted quickly before he could access the cash.
The suspect was arrested at the scene. Bank staff filed a formal complaint, and a case has now been registered against him. Authorities said this prompt action prevented a major theft.
During initial questioning, police discovered the suspect has a prior criminal record. He was previously arrested for multiple motorcycle theft cases. Investigators are gathering details about his past offences to check for any other criminal activity.
The arrested individual has been handed over to the relevant investigating officer. Police confirmed that further legal proceedings will follow as the investigation continues.
