Karachi experienced a sharp drop in temperature, plunging to 9.2°C on Friday night as the city continues to face a cold wave. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) attributes the cold spell to strong northeast winds blowing from Balochistan, which have intensified the chill across the city.
These winds have led to noticeably colder weather, with forecasts predicting that Karachi will continue to experience cold and dry conditions in the next 24 hours. The humidity level, currently at 48%, has further contributed to the brisk air, making residents feel the chill even more.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that despite the strength of the winds, there is no threat of dust storms in Karachi. However, the cold spell is expected to persist, with temperatures likely to remain low over the coming days.
As the cold wave continues, Karachi residents are bracing for several more days of chilly weather, unusual for the typically warmer city.
