The Sindh government has approved a major infrastructure project to ease traffic congestion and improve goods transportation in the city. The Karachi to Get 16.5km Elevated Expressway Connecting Port to Qayyumabad under a public-private partnership aimed at enhancing the city’s logistics and connectivity.
According to official sources, the new elevated expressway will stretch from Karachi Port to Qayyumabad, covering a total length of 16.5 kilometers. The project will help divert heavy traffic away from residential areas, reducing travel time and improving road safety.
Officials stated that the expressway will feature multiple entry and exit points, modern lighting, and sound barriers to minimize environmental impact. A spokesperson for the Sindh government said that feasibility and design work has been completed, and construction will begin soon after final approvals. The project will be developed in collaboration with private investors, ensuring efficiency and timely completion.
