Karachi Traders Observe Strike in Solidarity with Palestinians

Today, major commercial areas in Karachi, including Saddar, the Old City Area, Hyderi, Liaquatabad, Tariq Road, and Sarafa Bazaar, are shut down as traders observe a strike in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Retail and wholesale markets across the city have joined the protest, urging public support for the cause.

Rizwan Irfan, President of the Electronics Markets, confirmed that all electronics markets in the city will remain closed as a symbolic gesture of unity.

Jameel Paracha, a leader from the Karachi Traders Alliance, expressed that the business community is standing with Gaza. Wholesale markets have also participated in the strike, and protest camps against Israel are anticipated, according to the Chairman of the Wholesale Grocers Association.

Muhammad Aslam, General Secretary of the Jodia Bazaar Medicine Market, announced a full shutdown of the medicine markets, while Malik Zahid, President of the Shershah Scrap Market, confirmed their participation in the strike. The Tariq Road Traders Alliance has also declared a protest in support of Gaza.
