Police said hospital staff relied on an ultrasound report displayed on the woman’s phone. Investigators later determined that the report was not authenticated.
The incident has raised serious questions about the hospital’s procedures. Investigators are examining how the woman entered the operating theatre without confirmed pregnancy.
The doctor involved in the case reportedly told police that no baby was found inside her abdomen. The doctor said the woman arrived at the hospital in an emergency.
According to the doctor, the woman claimed she was receiving regular treatment elsewhere. Police are now examining the doctor’s statement along with other evidence.
