The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government announced on Thursday the summer vacation schedule for all public and private schools in the province amid rising temperatures across the country.
According to a notification from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, most districts in KP will observe summer holidays from June 15 to August 31. However, schools in the upper districts will have a shorter break from July 1 to July 31 due to the milder weather in those areas.

This vacation schedule applies to all government and private educational institutions under KP’s provincial education authority.
Earlier, the Punjab government also declared summer vacations for its schools, with different start dates for morning and afternoon shifts. Afternoon shift schools began their break on May 25, while other schools started on May 28. Schools across Punjab are expected to reopen on August 15, depending on weather conditions.
The extended school closures aim to protect students from the ongoing severe heatwave, following demands from parents and educators to safeguard children against heat-related health risks.
