The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken an important financial decision ahead of Eidul Azha. The provincial administration announces that government employees will receive their salaries earlier than usual. The payments will begin from May 20.
According to officials, the step has been taken to provide relief to employees before the religious festival. The government announces that this move is aimed at helping families manage Eid-related expenses without financial pressure.
Finance Advisor of the province confirmed the decision in a statement. He said the chief minister, Sohail Afridi, directed the authorities to ensure timely early disbursement. Following these instructions, the administration announces that salary payments will be processed starting May 20 across all departments.
He further explained that the decision was made in view of Eidul Azha. The aim is to support government workers during a time of increased household spending. Officials said the move reflects the governmentโs focus on employee welfare.
Eidul Azha is expected to be observed across Pakistan on May 27. The decision comes shortly after the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon in the country. Religious preparations have already begun in different cities and towns.
Markets and livestock activities are also expected to increase in the coming days. Many citizens are preparing for animal purchases and Eid arrangements. The early salary release is expected to help boost purchasing activity in the local economy.
The provincial government announces that departments have been instructed to ensure smooth and timely salary transfers. Financial authorities have also been asked to monitor the process closely so that no employee faces delays.
Officials added that such measures are part of routine facilitation during major religious occasions. Similar steps have been taken in previous years to support public employees ahead of Eid festivals.
The announcement has been welcomed by many government workers. Employees believe the early payment will help them plan Eid expenses more effectively and avoid last-minute financial stress.
Authorities have assured that all pending administrative processes will be completed before the scheduled date. The government remains focused on ensuring convenience for its workforce during the festive season.
