Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Wednesday announced plans to form a Force for release of the PTI founder. He made the statement while speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court.
The chief minister said the Force for release would work through peaceful means. He added that the struggle would focus on democracy and constitutional supremacy.
โI will disband the force with thanks after release of the partyโs founder,โ Afridi said. He confirmed that he would take an oath from members of the Force for release on February 22.
According to Afridi, the force will have a proper chain of command. Leadership will be given to a person recommended by the partyโs founder. He said discipline and structure would guide the movement.
The chief minister explained that preparation would come first. Action would follow when necessary. He stressed that all steps would remain within peaceful and constitutional limits.
Afridi also referred to previous protests. He said the party had staged a sit-in when instructed by its leadership. He added that the protest ended once leadership announced its conclusion.
The KP chief minister addressed rumors about efforts to remove him from office. He said that all power rests with Allah. He responded to a question by suggesting that those spreading such messages should consult the PTI founderโs sisters.
Afridi maintained that the Force for release is aimed at securing justice through lawful methods. He said the movement would represent public support for democratic principles.
Political observers noted that the announcement could shape upcoming political activities in the province. They added that peaceful mobilization remains central to the partyโs strategy.
The chief minister repeated that once the objective is achieved, the Force for release will be dissolved. He emphasized that its sole purpose is to seek the release of the partyโs founder.
The development marks a new phase in the partyโs political efforts. Authorities and political circles are closely monitoring the situation.
