Lahore Airport Cancels Flights Due to Record Rainfall

Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore faced severe disruptions due to heavy rainfall, with planes stranded in accumulated water on the tarmac. The intense downpour, which reached 350 millimeters in just three hours, broke a 44-year-old rainfall record and caused extensive flooding throughout the city.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is working to clear the runway and surrounding areas to ensure safe flight operations. The Meteorological Department predicts continued heavy rainfall from August 1 to 6 due to strong monsoon currents.
