LAHORE – Lahore Freezes under intense winter conditions as temperatures dropped to 3°C over the weekend, while thick fog disrupted daily life across the city and other parts of Punjab.
According to the Meteorological Department, the cold spell has tightened its grip due to dense fog and low wind speed. Visibility dropped sharply during night and early morning hours, making travel risky for commuters. Many roads remained partially visible, slowing traffic and increasing accident risks.
Cool winds are blowing at around 3 kilometers per hour. Humidity levels reached nearly 96 percent. These factors combined have made the cold feel harsher than usual. Despite the freezing conditions, no rainfall is expected in Lahore over the coming days.
The weather pattern shows that Lahore Freezes alongside several Punjab districts under similar conditions. Moderate to dense fog continues to blanket plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Transport services have faced delays due to poor visibility.
In Islamabad, the weather remains cold and dry. Fog is likely at night and early morning. Motorists have been advised to remain cautious during these hours.
Much of Punjab continues to experience cold and dry weather. However, hill stations face extreme cold. Areas such as Murree and Galyat are reporting very low temperatures. These conditions have made travel difficult for visitors and residents.
The Meteorological Department issued fog warnings for many cities. These include Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Other affected districts include Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Jhang, and Rahim Yar Khan. Fog is expected to persist during early hours.
Karachi is also feeling the winter impact. Although the city remains dry, nights are getting colder. Minimum temperatures are expected between 8°C and 10°C. Daytime temperatures may range from 24°C to 26°C.
The lowest temperature in Karachi was recorded at Jinnah Terminal at 7.9°C. Gulistan-e-Johar recorded 10.5°C. Shahrah-e-Faisal reported 11.5°C. These readings show a notable dip even in coastal areas.

Authorities urge citizens to take precautions. Early morning and nighttime travel should be avoided where possible. Foggy conditions reduce visibility and raise accident risks. Residents are also advised to dress warmly and limit outdoor exposure as Lahore Freezes under this ongoing cold wave.
