Lahore General Hospital Under Scrutiny Over Unqualified Staff Conducting Female Autopsies

LAHORE – A shocking revelation has surfaced, exposing that unqualified and male individuals have been performing autopsies on female bodies at the morgue of Lahore General Hospital. The discovery has sparked outrage and prompted a high-level inquiry into the hospital’s procedures and ethics.

According to reports, deceased female bodies brought for post-mortem examinations were handled by individuals who are neither doctors nor certified staff members. In many instances, the autopsies were reportedly performed without the supervision of any medical professionals.

Sources further revealed that untrained staff even stitched the bodies after the examinations using basic tools such as needles. Disturbingly, it is alleged that money collected monthly from doctors is given to a non-medical person, who then carries out the autopsies at Lahore General Hospital.

Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal, Principal of Amiruddin Medical College, immediately took notice of the situation. He directed the formation of a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. Dr. Afzal stated that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those found responsible, once the inquiry report is completed.

The revelation has raised serious questions about the management, oversight, and ethical standards maintained at Lahore General Hospital. Medical experts and the public alike have expressed deep concern over the lack of professionalism in such sensitive medical procedures.

The inquiry committee will assess the severity of the misconduct and identify those involved in the unauthorized post-mortems. Authorities have emphasized the need to uphold medical ethics and ensure that all procedures are conducted only by qualified professionals.
