Lahore Records Over Rs 540 Million in Kite and String Sales in Just Three Days

Lahore Kite Sales have surged dramatically ahead of this year’s Basant festival. Market reports show that over Rs 540 million worth of kites and strings were sold in just three days, indicating a strong seasonal demand.

Shopkeepers in Lahore’s main kite markets said the spike in sales reflects growing enthusiasm among festival-goers. Many buyers are purchasing kites of various sizes, colors, and designs, preparing for the traditional celebrations of Basant.

Officials noted that the high volume of Lahore Kite Sales is consistent with past years, but this year’s figures show an even faster pace, as people resume festival celebrations after previous restrictions. Retailers also reported a rise in sales of kite strings and related accessories.

Authorities have urged buyers to follow safety rules during the festival. Only government-authorized kite sellers are allowed to sell strings, and kite flying in restricted areas, especially near Lahore Airport, remains prohibited. Roof NOCs are also mandatory for safe kite flying during the Basant period.

The festival is expected to draw thousands of participants across the city. With free public transport announced for February 6, 7, and 8, authorities aim to reduce traffic congestion and ensure smooth celebrations. The surge in Lahore Kite Sales is likely to continue in the coming days as festival preparations reach their peak.

Local residents expressed excitement about the upcoming Basant festival. Many said they are eager to take part in kite flying, enjoy the colorful displays, and celebrate a longstanding cultural tradition.
