Lahore, Other Punjab Cities on High Alert After Islamabad Suicide Bombing

Security has been intensified across Lahore and other major cities in Punjab following a recent suicide bombing at the Islamabad District Court. The attack has prompted authorities to implement extraordinary safety measures, especially at the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Police and security agencies have deployed additional personnel at all entry and exit points of the provincial capital. According to officials, the enhanced measures are designed to prevent any potential suicide bombing or terror-related activity in the city.

Inside and around the Lahore High Court, strict checking procedures have been introduced. Every visitor and lawyer is being thoroughly screened before entry. Walk-through gates, metal detectors, and X-ray baggage scanners have been installed at key entrances, including the GPO Gate, Mosque Gate, and AG Office Gate.

Officials confirmed that only vehicles displaying Lahore High Court Bar Association stickers will be allowed into the court premises. Entry of unauthorized persons has been completely restricted to ensure maximum safety.

Female police officers have been assigned to conduct security checks of women lawyers and visitors, ensuring the process remains professional and respectful.

Authorities stated that the security plan is part of broader efforts to counter possible threats after the Islamabad suicide bombing. Police remain on high alert, with increased surveillance around sensitive installations and judicial buildings across Punjab.

A senior police official said, โ€œThese measures are preventive and aimed at ensuring the safety of everyone within court premises. No negligence will be tolerated.โ€

The government has urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement officers and report any suspicious activity immediately. Officials emphasized that public vigilance plays a vital role in deterring acts of terrorism.

The heightened security arrangements are expected to continue until authorities confirm that the threat level has subsided.
