LAHORE – Lahore is preparing to launch the “Libraries on Wheels” project for students. The initiative aims to improve access to books and digital learning resources.

Under the project, 55 electric vehicles will be provided to the Education Authority. These vehicles will operate as mobile libraries across different areas.

Each mobile library will carry books and digital learning facilities. The vehicles will also include 22 tablets for students.

An LED screen will also be installed inside each vehicle. The facilities are designed to support both traditional reading and digital education.

Charging arrangements will also be provided at schools. This will help keep the electric library vehicles ready for regular educational activities.

The Libraries on Wheels project is expected to expand access to learning resources. Students in different areas will be able to use the mobile facilities.

Each electric vehicle is expected to serve around 100 schools. This will allow one mobile library to reach students across multiple locations.

The project will initially operate through selected pilot schools. All 55 electric library vehicles will be stationed at these schools during the first phase.

Students will be able to access library services through the mobile units. They will also have access to tablets and other digital learning facilities.

The initiative combines physical books with technology-based educational resources. It is intended to provide students with more learning opportunities outside traditional libraries.

The use of electric vehicles also forms part of the project’s design. The vehicles will travel between schools to provide educational services.

The Libraries on Wheels initiative could help schools with limited library facilities. Mobile units can bring learning materials directly closer to students.

The project will begin with the planned 55 vehicles. Their use at pilot schools will help establish the initial network of mobile library services.

School charging facilities will support the operation of the vehicles. This arrangement will allow the mobile libraries to remain available for educational activities.

The project focuses on improving access to reading and digital resources. Officials are expected to use the initial phase to provide services across participating schools.

With books, tablets and LED screens included, the Libraries on Wheels project offers multiple learning tools. The mobile model will allow these resources to reach more students.
