LAHORE – Lahore has ranked as the world’s most polluted city on Saturday. The city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 181.
The data was reported by the IQAir index. Singapore ranked second with an AQI of 177.
Kuching secured third place with an AQI of 171. India’s Kolkata ranked fourth with an AQI of 168.
Several areas of Lahore recorded higher pollution levels than the citywide reading. Model Town reported an AQI of 211.
Paragon City recorded an AQI of 197. Iqbal Town also reported unhealthy air with an AQI of 190.
DHA Phase V recorded an AQI of 171. Chaman Park reported an AQI of 165.
Burki Road recorded an AQI of 162 during the latest readings. Bedian Road reported an AQI of 160.
The figures show that pollution levels vary across different parts of Lahore. Some locations recorded significantly higher readings than the city’s overall AQI.
Air quality can change throughout the day because of weather and local conditions. Residents may therefore experience different pollution levels across the city.

The Meteorological Department reported a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius in Lahore. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34°C.
Humidity levels were recorded at 65 percent. Winds are expected to remain between 3 and 5 kilometres per hour.
Weather conditions are expected to remain mostly dry during the day. No rainfall has been forecast for Lahore today.
Weather experts said the combination of temperature and humidity is not expected to create significant heat discomfort. However, air pollution remains a concern based on the latest AQI readings.
